Office of Executive to Chief Apostle

Greetings to you in the name of our Awesome and Almighty God. I am truly grateful to the Lord Jesus Christ to be God's chosen angel to be the executive to the chief apostle over the International body of the Church of our Lord Jesus Christ while leading the flock in Jacksonville, Florida."

The Church of our Lord Jesus Christ is a vast organization which encompasses people of all backgrounds, nationalities and income levels.

I believe that God has chosen people with colossal differences who will work together toward a unified goal. As Chief Apostle Bonner has said on numerous occasions, The Church of our Lord Jesus Christ is a chosen body of people designated by God to do unique and unusual works for the Lord.
In order to maximize our effectiveness, the Lord has given the organization a Vision that encompasses four areas. They include the development and maintenance of:

  1. Chastity Program ~ This program will target the development of the spiritual and social needs of our Young People. With training at this stage, we obey the scripture which instructs us to train up a child in the way that he should go.
  2. Senior Care ~ In order to successfully move forward we must always remember the vehicle which brought us to the present. Our Senior Citizens have been instrumental in establishing Churches, maintaining the standard of holiness throughout the years and most importantly, they have touched the lives of many who were seeking salvation. It is because of our Seniors, that we are here today. The Church of our Lord has a rich history and it is our obligation to help preserve it.
  3. International Brotherhood Alliance ~ This union will act as a bonding agent to further unite the Brothers of the organization.
  4. Educational Program for the Ministers and Missionaries ~ How can we teach unless we have been taught ourselves? In order to be effective teachers and leaders, those in key positions must be trained to lead.

In each of these areas, progress much progress has been made.

  • Chastity Program ~ Dr. Celeste Ashe Johnson along with Mother Mildred Woolfolk has coordinated the Program and have had students to graduate successfully from the Program.
  • Senior Care ~ Mother Carrie Basnight is spending numerous hours assuring that seniors are given priority in Convention housing, facilitating senior transportation during the International meetings and organizing the Annual Frank Solomon Senior Citizen's Dinner.
  • International Brotherhood Alliance ~ The International Union of Deacons has boosted their energies to maintain and develop programs which will bring about a greater unity among the brethren.
  • Educational Program for the Ministers and Missionaries ~ Because of the arduous efforts of our Chief Apostle, the Church of our Lord now has an accredited Bible College with certified instructors. This school will allow the education of our leaders at minimal cost and maximum benefit.

In the local assembly in Jacksonville, we have set specific goals to ensure proper progress. Our Statement of Mission: To preach, warn and witness to the wisdom of the mystery, to present every man perfect in Christ Jesus, to demonstrate the power of God. We know that the Lord Jesus Christ has placed a special call on each of our lives and we are determined to tackle every aspect of our Mission.

For the lack of Vision, the people perish. Thereby, we have strategized our means of sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ to every resident of Jacksonville and surrounding areas. Our Statement of Vision: Through the grace of God we endeavor to serve as a beacon within the church community by maintaining a doctrinal standard that parallels the Asia Minor Church of Ephesus while fostering an environment of brotherly love that is consistent with that of the Church of Philadelphia… To spread the Gospel through every available media, including television, radio, billboards, and the Internet.

I am grateful to report that the Temple Family has come to live by the theme, "Embrace the Mission in Pursuit of the Vision." As a visual reminder, those words are now boldly displayed on the wall of the sanctuary. We are also pleased to announce that by the grace of God we are fulfilling the vision. The Temple Audio/Video Ministry produces 2 telecasts which air weekly on BET and a local broadcast station. We have also been successful in creating and maintaining a web page on the World Wide Web for over 2 years. For the past 9 months, the Jacksonville Transportation Authority has been useful in providing exposure for the Greater Refuge Temple throughout Jacksonville and surrounding areas with advertisements on numerous buses.

The need to reach the "un-churched" generation is rudimentary. Thereby, we are targeting all areas of outreach in an effort to propagate the gospel of Jesus Christ. In order to aid in accomplishing some of our immediate goals, the Temple Family is committed to constructing a Family Life Center. This facility will house a recreational area for your enrichment, a fellowship hall, classrooms and larger quarters for the current Day Care Center. We are committed to teaching and training both by lecture and instruction and by example.

Our future goals include developing an accredited educational program which will include Pre-Kindergarten and grades 1 - 12 where students can acquire their secular education in a Christian and crime-free environment.
