History

The Church of Christ Bible Institute was founded in 1926 by Bishop R.C. Lawson as the educational arm of the newly established Church of Our Lord Jesus Christ of the Apostolic Faith. Our first location was in the Refuge Church of Christ then pastored by our founder, Bishop R.C. Lawson.

The Church of Christ Bible Institute served as a vehicle for training many of the pastors and leaders of our organization. Our school is unique in that it was the first Apostolic Bible Institute founded in the Northeast.

Our curriculum has always been Bible centered and apostolic. The history of the Institute in many “.’lays parallels that of its parent organization, the Church of Our Lord Jesus Christ. We have grown in enrollment and our curriculum has kept pace with the growing needs of our times, but we have not left our apostolic heritage.

Our school offers the unique opportunity for ministers and lay people to study the word of God in a Christian atmosphere with qualified and Spirit -filled instructors.

The Church of Christ Bible Institute is located in the heart of the Harlem community, within easy access to all public transportation, public libraries and museums.
